Firac

FIRAC was formed in the mid 1960's by a few dedicated Railway Radio Amateurs. Following a meeting, it was agreed weekly nets be conducted beween the four countries invloved, Switzerland, Denmark, Germany and France. From this small foundation Firac developed into the worldwide organisation that exists today. We consist of 20 countries with over 1900 members Firac hold an international congress annually in one of the member countries. The congress in this year is being held in the South of France mid September. (See congress page.)  In 2006 the M/C group were the hosts for the 45th Congress in Slovenia where Slovenia became a new FIRAC group. Since then Poland has joined the Firac organisation and hopefully this year the Ukraine will be accepted. The next contest is the FIRAC VHF contest and it is open to non members. The H.F CW contest held on the last weekend of October but sadly this also clashes with the SSB WWW contest. Rules for this contest are available on the main FIRAC site. During the year I will update the information on the site and if possibe add some photographs to the site. Members wishing to have photos posted plese contact me via my E-Mail.
